The creepmeter crosses the San Andreas fault roughly 1 km south of Hwy46. Following the Parkfeld earthquake it recorded 15 mm of afterslip. Thereafter a rate of 3.1 mm/year is observed consisting of 1-2 mm amplitude creep-events interupted by small left lateral events of similar amplitude.
The creep-meter was operated briefly in the 1990's and was reactivated after the 2004 Parkfield earthquake. It operated without telemetry to Dec 2010.
In Dec 2010 it was reinstalled using steel anchors and Sutron telemetry. On 26 Dec the 1 inch range transducer was replaced with a 2 inch range transducer J2794.
