Oakland Zoo Site map and cross-section Telemetered on line data are available here (user =geo, password=hobo)

The mean creep rate at Oakland Zoo since 1997 has been 3.08 mm/yr. Excluding a 5.6-mm-amplitude creep event in 2004,and an additional 1 mm in 1997, the mean creep rate here is only 2.3 mm/year (see image jpg, see image pdf).

All data 6 November1996 to 1 October 2009. FORMAT. The data are in two columns with a one line header labelled Zoodate [date in excel format (MM/DD/YY hh:mm:ss)], amd zoomm [dextral slip to four decimal places of which only two are significant]. The starting value is arbitrary. There are 238759 rows and the unpacked .csv file is 6Mb. The zip file is 800 kb

3. All data - Ten-minute samples interpolated from raw 15 minute, 10 minute and 5 minute samples -- a comma-separated zipped file.

Transmission errors and cable short circuits in one of the transducers rendered the data suspect for the period Feb 05 to Mar 05. Careful editing of data in this period reveals a creep rate of 2.6 mm/year before and after a 5.6-6.5 mm creep event with a duration of roughly 2 years. The creep event has a possible precedent in Sept 2002 but this event is masked by the seasonal signal which has been significantly reduced in post 2004 data. Each creep event was accompanied by a number of local microearthquakes on the Hayward fault. See details.
