This creepmeter was operated by Caltech for many years but its invar wire hadcorroded and its beam balance destroyed by flooding and siltation. It was refurbished in August 2010 with a graphite length standard and an LVDT.

The data are now transmitted at 30 minute intervals in calibrated dextral mm and degrees C.

Ross Road, Imperial Fault

The creepmeter rod crosses the fault at a depth of more than 1 m. The sensor vault lies to the east of the fault near a small goat farm.

Data

Ross Road data to Feb 2011 show a creep rate on the Imperial fault of 1.3 mm/yr. The data may be dowloaded here.
