Overview of the Field Geophysics Suite
The Field Geophysics Suite of software is designed to be used in conjunction
with Burger, Sheehan, and Jones's textbook. There are five components to the
suite, each allowing both calculation of anomalies from hypothetical structures
and inversion of observations for a structure. Each program allows the user
to save models and data, to print or copy or save figures.
Components:
- Diffract is for the analysis
of diffractions observed on ground penetrating radar profiles acquired with
a constant source to receiver distance.
- GravMag allows for the joint
or separate examination of gravity and magnetic anomalies along a profile.
- Reflect generates synthetic
seismograms for understanding reflections on seismic profiles.
- Refract permits calculation
of first arrival times from a dipping structure and inversion for such a
structure
- Resist calculates the apparent
resistivities observed using Wenner or Schlumberger soundings or an EM-31.
