Map of Tarndale station area. Visited 5/31/01. Could go east-west on road out of Tarndale, probably best east of the airstrip, and south on leg near airstrip, as shown. Tarndale has some paddocks that look to get occasional heavy use; should be sure of this before settling on it. Road to south a bit tricky to find--go through south gate at fence at east end of "airstrip" (main road is at the north gate)--head forward maybe 50-100m, then turn south-track becomes evident at stream crossing near the turn. Road only passable south to a little beyond the end of the fence at the stream crossing shown above
Site owners: Molesworth Station. Possible DOC involvement here, though informally they suggested it far less sensitive than other areas and less subject to vandals.
Broadband SDG (Sedgemere Lake) to the north near the locked gate from the Wairau Hydro Road.
