AMS Spectra Intercomp
The purpose of this page is to serve as a repository of information for the AMS spectral intercomparison experiment. This follows up on discussions at the 10th AMS Users Meeting in Toronto, Canada. The objective is to evaluate the variability of the spectra from different AMSs (including Q-AMS, C-ToF-AMS, HR-ToF-AMS in V and W modes, and mini-AMS) for several standard substances.
The molecules we are considering are:
- Ammonium nitrate
- Ammonium sulfate
- Squalane
- DOS
- sucrose
- PFK
- Levoglucosan
- Succinic acid
- Fulvic Acid
Michael Lechner in my group will coordinate – Choose 5 molecules • Squalane, DOS, levoglucosan, sucrose, PFK or PFT, succinic acid, fulvic acid (?) • + Standard methods of preparation – Prepare 100 mg vials from the SAME sample – Send them to everyone who is interested – People run them in all of their AMSs, and upload spectra to website (along with vaporizer T, V, A etc.) – We discuss the comparison of the spectra in the next Clinic users meeting
