Making a submeter DGPS measurement
This sheet describes how to collect GPS data for accurate carrier phase differential post processing. The Magellan receivers you are using can be used as both rover and base receivers for differential GPS. The process for data collection is the same for both stations.
á Take a Magellan ProMARK-XCP GPS receiver outside to an open place with most of the sky visible. Trees, buildings and people block satellite signals.
á Connect the Carrier Phase antenna to the receiver. Push the button on the antenna to turn it on. (The light will flash when its on.)
á Two machines must be recording at the same time.
á Press ON/OFF, DIF, 2, ENTER, and write down the filename displayed .
data file: _______________
á Press ENTER five times
á Log data for 10 minutes
While the receiver is logging data, stay back from the antenna so you dont block its view of satellites. The receiver display shows the amount of time that has passed.
