Marvin et al. (1978) determined K-Ar ages of biotite from crystal-lithic tuffs from the base, upper middle (Link Spring Tuff Member) and top of the South Park Formation. The ages were found to be 65.5, 59.7 and 56 mya respectively. Large boulders in the South Park Formation are derived from the margin of the Front Range to the east.
