The Current Creek Formation (shaded orange) is a sequence of conglomerates and sandstones that outcrops along the north western margin of the Uinta Basin. At its base it unconformably overlies the upper Cretaceous Mesaverde Formation. The Middle to Late Eocene Duschesne River Formation (~40 mya) unconformably overlies the Current Creek Formation. The conglomerate could be any age from 68 to 40 mya. Clasts range from boulder to granule in size.
Off to the southwest the Price River Conglomerate (shaded pink) inter tongues with the Late Cretaceous and early Paleocene North Horn Formation, indicating uplift of the Wasatch Mountains in the late Cretaceous.
