(From Tikoff and Greene, 1997),  The likelihood of horizontal or vertical stretching lineations in dependence on the ratio of finite strain in the horizontal plane and the angle of convergence.  For pure shear oriented transpression, convergence angles greater than 20° will produce vertical lineations.
