Late in the Proterozoic glacial deposits are found all over the world, including this diamictite from the Kingston Peak Formation in the Kingston Range, Basin and Range. Pieces of the older Beck Spring Dolomite included in the diamictite are seen at lower right. This was also a time of tectonic activity in this area, and syndepositional normal faults cut these rocks, so some of these deposits could also have a tectonic origin.
