Late Paleozoic rocks of the Kings River Ophiolite rise across the Kings River in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Pillow basalts and some deep water cherts are the more visible lithologies. This material represented seafloor accreted to North America in the Mesozoic and probably represents the southern continuation of the Cache Creek Terrain.
