Beloc Tide Gauge
18.47886 deg N, 72.66727 deg W.
This instrument measures piezzometric pressures roughly 10 m from the surf zone on a small promontory facing uplifted coral approximately 50 m offshore. The pressure sensor is strapped to a stainless bar which is in beach sand beneath the water table.
There is no nearby datum to which a long term stability measurement can be tied except offshore to the corals. The top of the stainless bar is 60.9 cm from the base of the pressure transducer.
Data
The data are recorded in a data logger which samples sea level every 3 minutes and records it every 15 minutes. The data are not telemetered. Recording was started at 2 pm 25 March 2010.
