Number 8 North Street, Horsham no longer exists.
This
is a view from the station end of North Street eastward (circa 1900). It shows the spire of St. Marks
constructed 1870 as an addition to the church. The 1840 church was declared redundant in 1988 and the spire is all that now
remains. Oldham's 1913 house
was near the shops that surrounded the square in Horsham and a 10 minute walk
from the rail station. The lower
picture viewing from the square westwards along North Street shows the 1870
spire, all that remains of St Marks Church. Number 8 would have been between
the supermarket and the church approximately where the newly constructed road
curves around to the right. North
Street was reconfigured in the late 1980's during development of an underpass
through Horsham.
