This obelisk has been erected and an annual prize founded at Wellington CollegeEngland to perpetuate the memory of Major T. J Willans, RE, for nearly 12 years Executive Engineer of the Khasi and Jauntia Hills,who died at Shillong 4th of Julu 186. Deeply regreted by all who knew him.
