Grant, C. W. (1837). Memoir to illustrate a Geological Map of Cutch, Trans. Geol. Soc London Series II, 5,(25), 289-389. Grant never visited the Allah Bund but on pages 318-320 includes interesting materials on the Lakhpat region, and on page 326 mentions he saw the distant ruins of Fort Sindri from Lakhpat in 1834. His map of Sindri (dated1836) and his description of the Bund are from Burnes (1834) and Lyell, but he includes confirmation of apparent uplift at Sundoo north of Lakhpat on his map, the first geological map of Kachchh, which shows recent sediments surrounding the western shores of Kachchh suggestive of uplift. In 1838 Lyell asked Grant to send someone to survey Fort Sindri and the Allah Bund. Grant sent one in the dry season (March 1838) and found the mouth of the Pooram to be 100 yards wide with perpendicular banks 9 feet high. Local information indicated that the water was 5 feet in the channel (presumably 5 foot deep) in the rainy season. Grant made a sketch of the fort from the materials given to him by his local surveyor, which Lyell reproduced in his book, but Grant does not appear to have published a quantitative survey of the Bund or Fort Sindri.
Grindlay R. M. (1808), diary reproduced from Burnes A., Travels into Bokhara, Volume 3 Appendix. 1834.The entry on Grindlay extracted here are from the "Man web site" ...http://www.manfamily.org/contact.htm. Grindlay describes the region between Sindri and the dam north of the Allah Bund in a single sentence.
