Cinder Cone in Southern Death Valley

Initial view is northwest, over the southern Death Valley Fault (which bisects the cinder cone) to the Panamint Range. Toward the right you can see up the valley to the Funeral Mountains, then the Copper Canyon turtleback on the east side of the valley (part of the Black Mountains). The Black Mountains are all around on the east and the southern end of the Panamint Range is on the west. The Confusion Hills are just to the south along the trace of the fault. March, 2002.
