Panorama 12 August 2023 from the flank of The Miter.
Hide... Starting from looking down the Rock Creek canyon. The left peak with a snowpatch on the right is Kern Peak, 15 miles distant anf the Toowa Range with more distant peaks beyond. The Siberian Outpost plateau extends across the middle distance with its treeless sandy meadow. Above the peak with three small snow patches is Mt. Pinos in the Transverse Ranges, 128 miles distant. Johnson Peak (shadowed) anchors the right edge of the Siberian Outpost. Looking more to the right, the butresses of the east end of Mt. Pickering dominate above the left part of Sky Blue Lake. Mt. Newcomb is over the right part of the lake. Farther right, the snowfield on the skyline marks Crabtree Pass (Mt. Whitney would be straight on through that pass). The ridge to Mt. McAdie is just left of the nearby Miter (mostly shadowed). Mts. LeConte and Corcoran are the higher peaks along the jagged Sierra crest. Farther right, Mt. Langley is visible over Tuttle Pass while the broad flat farther right is the northern edge of the Langley summit plateau.
