Sunrise, August 22, 1982 from Mt. Whitney. Initial view to the south has the half hill of Mt. Langley with Olancha Peak beyond to the right. Moving right, the Kern Canyon is visible with the Mineral King part of the Great Western Divide beyon. Farther right (west), the reddish peaks of the Kaweah Peaks are visible (with the shadow of Mt. Whitney below). Farther right, over the Bighorn Plateau, is the Triple Divide Peak area where the Great Western Divide meets the Kings-Kern Divide. Farther right is the Sierra crest stretching off far into the distance. Mt Williamson, with a triangular face, is at the edge of the Owens Valley. Off to the east is Owens Valley with the Inyo Mountains lost in the sun.
Panorama done September 2008 with PTGui, which dealt with this very difficult panorama.
