DAURE Logistics
From Jimenez Group Wiki
This Wiki page is a repository for information for the Organization of the Jimenez Group and Related People for the DAURE Campaign. Anyone involved in the campaign can add information directly, but due to problems with Spam you do need to login (and create an account if you don't have one already). You can also email Jose with any information and he can add it quickly to the site.
Logistical Info
- The host institute in Barcelona is located here
- For computer components, two large shops located near the Institute are PC City and FNAC, which are in the Centro Comercial L'illa
- We will be at the rural site in the Montseny National park, this map has a general relation of the site with Barcelona
- There is a regional train line ('Linea de Cercanias C2 de RENFE') from downtown Barcelona to a station near the site (Palautordera is the closest station, or Sant Celoni is also nearby) This map shows the path from the Palautordera train station to the house where we will be staying (Can-Marc)
- We will be staying at Can-Marc Rural Hostel. There is free wifi at the hostel.
- The best mobile phone and mobile internet coverage is with "Movistar". Those of you with a GSM phone can buy a SIM card to get in their network.
- There is a landline at the site, it may be possible to dial-up to the internet from there (free dialup in Spain: Gonuts4free)
- People's contact info
- Jose's Cell phone: 606-781-823
- Lodging
- For the Montseny site we will stay at a house in a nearby village. It has Wifi internet.
- The last stretch of road to the Montseny site is still in bad shape (it would be dangerous for a regular car). Andres says (3-Feb) that they have been promised that it will be repaired, but they are not sure how complete those will be. Andres has reserved a 4x4 vehicle for the whole period, and they are trying to get two more. With those it would probably be enough, with a car staying at Montseny and another one going back and forth to Barcelona, plus a third for flexibility.
