Atmospheric chemistry and its links to climate

Current Research Projects

Photochemistry and transport processes in the stratosphere and troposphere; remote sensing of the atmosphere by spectroscopic methods and their interpretation; interpretation of ozone depletion at mid-latitudes and in polar regions; coupling between trace gases and the Earth's climate system.

  • Member, National Academy of Sciences; Foreign Member, French and European Academies of Science.
  • Solomon Glacier (78°23'S, 162°30'E) and Solomon Saddle (78°23'S, 162°39'E) were named in honor of leadership in Antarctic research in l994.
