Site descriptions: Two independent but parallel creepmeters operate at many of the Hayward fault sites- a GOES telemetered system and a local data logger system

Fault: H=Hayward Fault, SA=San Andreas Fault, SH=Superstition Hills, San Jacinto System

mm/yr Creep rates measured by creep-meters (in red) usually underestimate actual creep-rates by 10-30% depending on the width of the fault zone. The column "mm/yr pin" indicates the long term creep rate measured geodetically or from offset structures (e.g. Lienkaemper et al., 2001; Galehouse, 2002).
